Welcome to the the Institute for Global Education online!

The Institute for Global Education was established in 1980. Throughout our many years of serving the local and global community, we have addressed the pressing – and at times controversial – social issues of the day. Never afraid to ask questions, seek deeper understanding or spark community conversation, our work has focused on:

• Media literacy
• Sexism
• Racism
• Militarism
• Classism

In every issue we focus on, we promote peaceful conflict resolution through training, workshops with youth and adults, and ongoing community discussion. Learn more about our Working Groups and read our newsletter Equity .
Our mission
IGE supports the non-violent resolution of conflicts and the pursuit of justice as the best way to achieve true, lasting peace through conscientious individual and group education and action.
